Sun Peaks Resort (this page and following)
Window walls and highly crafted timber details
dominate the view sides of this residence. The
interior living areas seamlessly transition onto
flagstone outdoor living patios. A circular timber
stairway wraps around a 30 ft. high spiral cedar,
salvaged from the Queen Charlotte Islands.
Wood-carver Joe Ratushniak graphically inscribed
the life cycle of the salmon up and down the log.
The timber-vaulted living room is flanked by a floor
to ceiling bluestone-slab fireplace. Although this
house is relatively spacious, the extensive use of
wood and the scale of the interior add a feeling
of warm and an intimate ambience.
